When food travels, it carries more than flavours, it carries memories, traditions, people and stories. As Onrique, Santacruz’s premium dining destination, marks two years, the restaurant celebrates the milestone by introducing a new menu that brings together its European foundation with the vibrant flavours of India and Asia. Rather than approaching the menu as conventional fusion, Onrique interprets global flavours through its own kitchen, creating dishes that feel familiar yet offer an unexpected point of view.

Conceptualised by Abhimanyu Jakhar, Founder of Jakhar Hospitality, the new menu marks another step in Onrique’s evolving journey, reflecting his vision of creating spaces that are driven by food, experience and a sense of discovery. Speaking about the two-year milestone and the new menu, he says, “Two years of Onrique have been about understanding what our guests enjoy, building a space that feels welcoming and constantly finding ways to keep the experience fresh. The new menu is a reflection of that journey. We wanted to bring together flavours that people recognise and love, while giving them a perspective that feels distinctly Onrique. For us, it is about creating food that is approachable, interesting and memorable, and continuing to give our guests a reason to come back and discover something new.”

Over the past two years, Onrique has evolved into a dynamic dining destination where European-inspired aesthetics and all-day dining come together with a lively rooftop experience. With the new menu, the restaurant builds on this identity by exploring the way food moves across cultures and generations, taking recognisable ingredients, regional preparations and nostalgic flavours and presenting them through the distinct lens of Onrique.

The new menu features an exciting selection of dishes that bring together unexpected combinations while retaining a sense of comfort and familiarity. The Avocado Patta Chaat reimagines a much-loved Indian street food classic with a contemporary touch, while the Watermelon Burrata Chaat brings together juicy watermelon and creamy burrata with the familiar flavours of chaat. The Burrata Makhani with Focaccia pairs the richness of a beloved Indian makhani preparation with the comfort of freshly baked focaccia, creating a dish that is indulgent yet approachable.

The menu continues its exploration of regional flavours with the Daab Chingri with Coconut Rice, drawing inspiration from Bengali flavours and the distinctive use of tender coconut. The Mushroom Ghee Roast brings the deep, aromatic character of a South Indian ghee roast to a vegetarian preparation, while the Thai Chicken Krapao captures the fragrant, savoury and spicy notes of Thai cuisine. Rounding off the selection is the Parsi Salli Kheema with Soft Rolls, bringing the comforting flavours of Parsi cuisine to the table in a format designed for sharing and enjoying.

Speaking about the new menu, Chef Jyeshth Gupta, Chef at Onrique, says, “Food has the highest recall value. People associate many important memories of their lifetime with food, be it attending an event, going out for a meal or travelling to another city or country, food is often at the heart of those experiences and the memories we carry with us. At Onrique, we wanted to bring flavours and memories from different parts of the world to the table, while keeping the food soulful, approachable and enjoyable.”

The new menu is designed to be experienced without preconceptions, encouraging guests to discover flavours they already know in an entirely new way. From Indian regional favourites to Asian influences and European sensibilities, each dish reflects Onrique’s evolving identity while retaining the warmth and ease that define the dining experience.

To mark its second anniversary, Onrique is celebrating with a week-long 2+2 cocktail offer starting from 3rd oct, inviting guests to raise a toast to two years of memorable dining, conversations and experiences. Available for a limited week, the offer adds a celebratory touch to the launch of the new menu and gives guests another reason to gather, unwind and discover Onrique’s latest flavours.

For Onrique, the two-year milestone is not just a celebration of time, but of the relationships, meals and memories that have shaped the restaurant’s journey so far. With its new menu and anniversary celebrations, Onrique looks ahead to the next chapter with the same intent—to create a space where people can come together, discover something new, and leave with memories of their own.
