NBA Restarts And Princepal Singh Signs G League

NBA Restart begins from 31 July and 22 teams are coming together for the season inside a biosecure bubble in Orlando, USA.

Two matches will be played on the first day, Utah Jazz taking on the New Orleans Pelicans followed by Los Angeles Clippers against the Lakers. The basketball tournament includes 89 players from 34 countries and eight NBA All-Stars who are all set to return. Each team will have at least one international player on their side.

This NBA season will have 22 of the 30 teams play eight seeding games to determine a full 16 team playoff field which will be followed by the traditional postseason format with four best-of-seven series.

Meanwhile, NBA Academy graduate from India Princepal Singh, who stands tall six feet and 10 inches from Punjab, has signed to play in its ‘G’ League next season.

The forward from Punjab, Princepal Singh is the first NBA Academy graduate to sign with the NBA G League and first NBA Academy India graduate to sign a professional contract. He will train and compete alongside the new G League team that features elite youth prospects.

After joining ‘The NBA Academy India’ in 2017, the 19 year-old basketball player moved to ‘The NBA Global Academy’ in Canberra, Australia in 2018 where he continued his development in the game.

Chief Minister of Punjab Captain Arminder Singh congratulated Princepal Singh via Twitter. Sure about creating an international name, the leader added that the forward is the first player from Dera Baba Nanak to be signed for the select squad of the developmental NBA league.
