MUMBAI, 7th SEPTEMBER 2026 – La Panthera is our interpretation of Europe – shaped by its flavours, its travels and its timeless sense of character. Now, with its second location in Mumbai’s historic Eros building in Churchgate, Chef Manuel Olveira and founder Mickee Tuljapurkar are giving that idea a new address – one shaped as much by the character of South Bombay as by their own experience of Europe.
The success of La Panthera in BKC established its European identity. La Panthera Eros takes that identity in a different direction, responding to its distinctive architecture, history and neighbourhood rather than replicating the original restaurant.
Set within Mumbai’s iconic 1930s Art Deco Eros building, the 80 seater brings a new menu of refined European comfort food, Spanish pintxos & bar culture from 5.30 PM into the late night, a tightly edited cocktail programme & the warmth of an old European apartment – interpreted through the founders’ distinctly personal lens & South Bombay character.
A RESTAURANT BUILT AROUND COMFORT
At the centre of La Panthera is a deceptively simple philosophy: comfort food, refined. Rather than representing one European country, the menu moves freely across the continent, shaped by Manuel’s Spanish roots, his travels and the kitchens he has worked in. Familiar dishes are given a contemporary point of view, without losing what makes them comforting.
FROM THE SPANISH PINXTOS
One of the clearest expressions of Olveira’s Spanish background comes at the beginning of the meal, with Pintxos – small Spanish bar bites menu designed to accompany a drink and set the tone for the evening.
The Classic Gilda brings together green olive, piparra, gherkin, bell pepper and Manchego, while the Boquerón Gilda adds white anchovy to the salty, pickled combination. Other pinxtos include Patatas Bravas with a moorish salsa brava, creamy & crisp Brown Cauliflower Croquetas with Manchego & black truffle, Jamón Ibérico Croquetas, Txangurro (baked butter garlic crab), Gambas al Ajillo and Pan con Tomate that can be topped with Cantabrian anchovies or Jamón Ibérico.
The character is unmistakably Spanish: salty, oily, crunchy, cheesy, pickled – food made to be eaten with a drink in hand. Chef Manuel has also gone to considerable lengths to source authentic Spanish produce, bringing ingredients and flavours from Spain into the La Panthera experience.
FROM PINTXOS TO TAPAS
The Tapas section expands the menu for a sharing dining experience. Vegetable-led dishes sit alongside seafood & meat preparations including Green Bean & Pear Salad in cashew cream, Burrata with gazpacho, tomato sorbet and heirloom tomato, Carrot Ceviche with carrot leche de tigre and crispy quinoa, BFF Carpaccio with Sherry-infused Arbequina olive oil and Pecorino Romano, Bloody Mary Ceviche (seabass ceviche with Bloody Mary granita), Chicken wings (stuffed with orzo and blue cheese) & Charred Octopus with muhammara and smoked paprika.
PIZZA, PASTA & MAINS
La Panthera’s pizza has developed a fan following of its own. The dough is fermented for 48 hours, resulting in a light, airy base with a crisp, well-developed crust. The menu moves from the familiar Margherita and Pepperoni to more expressive combinations including Burrata
Verde, Scamorza Rosso, Tartufo, Short Rib Picante and La Panthera with ’Nduja and burrata.
The pasta follows the same philosophy: familiar dishes given enough technique and personality to make them interesting, without losing their sense of comfort. Pici Cacio e Pepe stays close to the pleasure of the original, while Two-Sheet Lasagna layers caponata, béchamel and Parmesan with Maria’s hot sauce. Truffled Brie Agnolotti brings together brie, black truffle, charred eggplant & spicy hazelnut brittle and Italy’s fav pasta Mezze Rigatoni with prawns, burrata and pistachio.
The mains move between comfort and refinement, from Whipped Polenta with glazed chickpea and eggplant galettes and Morels Risotto to a Triple-Smashed Smash Burger, Roast Chicken with pumpkin purée and salsa verde, Grilled Tenderloin Steak comes with a creamy potato pave & peppercorn sauce, Baked Sea Bass with gnocchi in a seafood bisque with fennel salad and perfectly grilled New Zealand Lamb Chops with goat cheese.
DESSERTS continues the conversation between nostalgia and reinvention. Tiramisu La Panthera Way combines mascarpone, coffee ice cream and coffee crisps. Warm Chocolate Tart comes with chocolate namelaka, yogurt ice cream and Jamaican pepper chocolate sauce, while Banana Soufflé is paired with salted caramel ice cream.
There is also an eggless Apple Tarte Tatin, while also NEW ON THE MENU is a SORBET & GELATI selection that includes a boozy Blood Orange Negroni Sorbet, Mascarpone & Black Fig Gelato and Burnt Vanilla Olive Oil Gelato with Maldon salt.
THE BAR IS PART OF THE STORY
The cocktail programme follows the same philosophy as the food: familiar classics, exceptionally made, with one clever twist. The Cucumber Martini combines cucumber gin, dry vermouth & clarified green apple. La Panthera Dirty Martini takes a savoury route with olive vodka, while the Sake-tini brings together Junmai sake, bianco vermouth and hazelnut.
The Panthera Negroni introduces peach and Kalamata olive. A clarified Daiquiri becomes Side Quest, while No Problemo combines mezcal, tequila, clarified kalamansi and grapefruit
soda for a refreshing take on the Paloma. For later in the evening, the drinks become darker: a Cocoa Boulevardier, a Smoky Old Fashioned, a Spanish Carajillo and finally a cocktail version of dessert, Tiramisu But Drunk. The technical work- clarification, infusions, washing, reductions and house-made ingredients – is deliberately kept out of sight. Less theatre, more taste.
A SENSE OF PLACE
Designed by Gowri Adappa of A Design Co, the interiors draw from the Eros building without recreating its Art Deco past. Curved forms, custom La Panthera mouldings by ZaWorks, vintage lighting, brass, timber, terrazzo, mirrors and art create a layered, eclectic interior. The idea was to make it feel less like a restaurant and more like an exceptionally cool South Bombay apartment – lived-in, relaxed and personal. At its centre is the bar, surrounded by intimate dining nooks, a library lounge, private dining room and open kitchen with its pizza oven in view. Curved windows open onto a terrace overlooking Churchgate Station and South Bombay’s heritage architecture, giving the restaurant an unmistakable sense of place.
Ultimately, La Panthera Eros is not an attempt to recreate Europe in Mumbai. It is Manuel and Mickee’s interpretation of it – shaped by the places they have travelled, the food they remember and the restaurants they have built. A new La Panthera, in a very different part of the city, with a character entirely its own.
