Kamala Harris, a name that took the world by surprise and never lost media’s attention since August, is going to be the ‘Madam Vice President’, etching a name in the history of the United States.

Representing the Democratic party of America, Harris has added many firsts to her name. From being the first lady to acquire the official position of the Vice President, Kamala is also the first woman of colour and Indian origin, achieving the honourable designation.

Calling out the women of colour as “backbone of our democracy”, the Vice President-elect in her speech also thanked her mother Shyamala Gopanlan Harris, who strongly believed in America.
