In the late 90’s, it was a treat to watch Sachin Tendulkar swing his bat and hit shots at every corner of the corner. ICC reminisced his historic performances and shared a throwback post about the time when the Master Blaster’s ‘Desert Storm’ destroyed the Australian team in Sharjah.
While playing the triangular series called Coca Cola Cup against Australia and New Zealand in 1998, Sachin Tendulkar helped the national team to qualify to the finals. He scored 143 runs in 131 deliveries, his highest score at that time and one of the best innings in ODI history. Smashing all the Australian bowlers, this performance of Tendulkar will always be remembered.
Not one but ICC shared another throwback picture, this time of Shefali Verma, a player who is following the footsteps of the God of Cricket. Just like Sachin Tendulkar, she made her debut in the Indian women’s team at the age of 15, becoming the youngest Indian player to do so.
The throwback picture is all about how Shefali became a star of the national team after beating Sachin’s record. She scored her maiden half-century in a T20 match against West Indies, becoming the youngest Indian cricketer to achieve this. Along with that, she was named as the ‘Player of the Series’ as well.
