Delhi-based contemporary electronic producers Tech Panda x Kenzani have been behind numerous record-busting hits like ‘Dilbar’, ‘Khoyo, ‘Indian Monsoon’ and more but the two have now set their focus westwards, focusing on international festivals and dancefloors. Their new, Afro-leaning sound, is a tweak of their signature style that has seen them mix international styles with Indian sounds to great success.

“Evolution is a part of being an artist and it is, therefore, in our innate nature to keep changing our sound and tailor it to the emotions we feel at a certain time,” Tech Panda and Kenzani explain. “During the past year, we have felt the need to create more fiery sounds that invoke a different kind of excitement within us, and ‘Ek-Tara’ has been like a bridge in that way. This song literally started the fire within us once again!” they add.

‘Ek Tara’ is the new percussion-heavy production by the Indian electronica producers and explores a new Afrotech direction, precision-targeted for the world’s most exciting dance floors. The big-room, stadium-sized dynamics start straightaway, with chords and synths building up to a swirling crescendo.

Frequent collaborator Mitika Kanwar’s evocative vocals add a delicate touch to what is a percussive workout and introduce sonic drama, taking it from yet another four-to-the-floor banger to a more nuanced yet more massive tune. The soaring serenade paints a vivid picture of longing, love and desire, backed by the sought-after studio-wizards’ propulsive production.

“When we create a piece of music, we know the reaction to the track will not be the same as the last, and that is the beauty of it,” the duo reflects on their discography. “‘Ek Tara’ aims to demolish dance floors while still telling the Tech Panda and Kenzani’ story and that is exactly what the talented Mitika Kanwar has done using her hypnotic vocals. We always test out unreleased tracks at our shows to gauge the response of our fans, and our fans have shown massive love to ‘Ek Tara’. The track has also received much love internationally by other DJs as part of their sets.”

‘Ek Tara’ will be available across all streaming platforms on March 19.
