With 2025 marking one of the strongest rhino calving seasons in the conservancy’s history, Ol Jogi continues to build on decades of dedicated rhino conservation. Today, Ol Jogi protects 145 rhinos, comprising 92 black rhinos and 53 white rhinos, making it one of the country’s largest and most significant rhino strongholds. Since becoming a rhino sanctuary in 1980, the conservancy has played a pivotal role in safeguarding the species, supporting Kenya’s national recovery efforts through scientific management, intensive monitoring, veterinary care and habitat protection. Over the years, Ol Jogi has also contributed rhinos to strengthen other sanctuaries across the country, helping build resilient populations beyond its own boundaries.

As rhino numbers continue to grow, increased population density has led to greater territorial competition among mature bulls – a positive challenge that reflects a thriving population nearing the ecological capacity of its habitat. Rather than limiting growth, Ol Jogi is playing a central role in the Kenya Rhino Range Expansion (KRRE) initiative, a national programme in partnership with various conservation stakeholders, to establish new secure rhino habitats across Kenya. As a key source population, the conservancy will contribute healthy animals for carefully managed translocations, helping relieve pressure on existing sanctuaries while supporting the long-term recovery of black rhinos nationwide.

Beyond rhinos, Ol Jogi’s 343-person conservation team continues to protect the wider ecosystem through giraffe corridor mapping, predator monitoring, rangeland regeneration, wildlife health research and the use of advanced conservation technologies such as EarthRanger analytics and camera traps. These efforts are complemented by community education initiatives reaching nearly 25,000 Kenyan students annually, reinforcing the conservancy’s belief that lasting conservation depends on thriving wildlife, healthy landscapes and empowered local communities.

Guests enjoy full access to the Main House’s facilities, amenities and experiences, ensuring every member of the group remains connected while enjoying the privacy and exclusivity of the conservancy.

Each spacious tent has been carefully designed to immerse guests in the surrounding wilderness without compromising on comfort. Featuring bespoke furnishings, a private ensuite bathroom with signature Ol Jogi amenities, and a classic open-air safari shower beneath the African sky, the accommodation offers an authentic yet refined safari experience. A generous private veranda overlooks the Main House waterhole, providing a front-row seat to the rhythm of the Laikipia landscape as wildlife gathers throughout the day.

Designed with flexibility in mind, Under the Stars can be configured as double, twin or single occupancy to suit each group’s preferences. Recommended for 12 guests sharing six tents and accommodating up to 20 guests across ten tents, the camp is ideal for multi-generational family holidays, milestone celebrations and private retreats.

Open year round to welcome guests in every season, Under the Stars starts from USD 2,500 per person, per night. A minimum stay of three nights applies throughout the year, with a five-night minimum during the Christmas and New Year festive period.
