“Astitva – The Essence of Being”

Meena Yadav is a contemporary abstract artist whose practice is rooted in an intuitive relationship with the natural world and the emotional landscapes that define human experience. Her work is distinguished by its ability to evoke a sense of stillness and movement at once — a quiet paradox that runs through the layered surfaces she creates. Based in Gurugram, Meena approaches abstraction as both exploration and reflection, using colour, texture, and depth to examine the places where the organic and the constructed intersect.

Meena’s visual language emerges from observing environments that shift constantly — skies that transform by the hour, land that carries invisible histories, and spaces that hold memory in silence. Her canvases feel like distillations of these phenomena, capturing not the appearance of a landscape but its internal rhythm. Through nuanced washes, textured layers, and delicate marks, she creates works that pulse with energy yet remain grounded in meditative calm.

Astitva marks a significant point in her creative journey. The series contemplates the essence of being — the core of existence that remains, even as life around us grows increasingly complex. In The World in One Breath, she creates a landscape of shifting hues that seem to fold into one another like seasons dissolving into memory.
