In the Asian Wrestling Championship held at K D Jadhav Indoor Stadium, Indira Gandhi Arena, New Delhi, Indian wrestler Jitender Kumar had to settle for silver medal while going against Kazakhstan’s Daniyar Kaisanov.
In the final match though the Indian athlete performed really well yet couldn’t defend the attacks of Kaisanov, who clinched the gold with a 3-1 points. But on a brighter side Jitender bagged a seat in the Olympics qualifier which is to be held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan at the end of March, without going for any re-match.
Apart from Jitender shining in the match, Deepak Punia and Rahul Aware also bagged bronze medals in the continental championship.
Earlier, Ravi Dahiya in the 57 kg freestyle clinched gold for India while Indian acte wrestler Bajrang Punia grabbed silver in the championship.

On the concluding day of Asian Wrestling Championship, India finished with five golds, six silvers and eight bronze medals, giving a high hope to the nation for the upcoming Tokyo Olympics.
