Swati & Sunaina Gold – Alchemy of Light 2026–27
Swati & Sunaina Gold presents Alchemy of Light, a limited-edition collection of 28 sarees that marks the culmination of over a decade of research, experimentation and technical mastery in pure silver and gold zari.
Returning to gold in its most elemental form, the collection explores the material beyond ornamentation. Each saree is woven using zari composed of 98.5% pure silver electroplated with 24-karat gold, a distinctive technique that has defined the house since its inception.
Through geometric weaves, subtle colour variations and the interplay of warp and weft, the collection explores how the same material can appear transformed through light, texture and movement. Despite being woven almost entirely in zari, the sarees retain remarkable softness and fluidity.
The exploration extends beyond the textile itself, with the campaign transforming the saree from textile to image to object, through a series of material interventions and installations. Alchemy of Light reflects Swati & Sunaina Gold’s continuing commitment to India’s weaving traditions, archival craftsmanship and technical innovation.
