Bengaluru, March 2026: MISU, the pan-Asian dining brand known for its understated elegance and experiential approach, unveils its newest Bengaluru outpost on St. Marks Road with a space that places design firmly at the centre of the dining experience. Located in the heart of the city’s CBD, the new MISU is a study in bold restraint, where architecture, light, and materiality work together to shape mood, movement, and memory.
Imagined as an immersive environment rather than a conventional restaurant interior, the space marks a clear evolution of the MISU identity. The intent from the outset was to create an atmosphere that feels dramatic yet considered, one that unfolds slowly over the course of an evening, allowing the environment to set the pace as much as the menu.
“This outlet represents how MISU has evolved over the years. The space is intentionally design-forward, where evenings stretch longer and the ambience sets the pace. Alongside this, our food presentation and recipes have been thoughtfully elevated, more refined, more intentional, to complement the overall experience,” says Amit Ahuja, Founder, MISU.
At the heart of the interior narrative is a custom-designed wall panel, created exclusively for MISU. Rich in texture and warmth, it anchors the space visually while establishing a strong tactile language. Beneath it, a black-and-grey herringbone floor in natural stone introduces rhythm and movement, subtly energising the room and guiding the diner through the space.
Suspended overhead is the restaurant’s most arresting feature: a massive linear origami light installation. Integrated with dynamic, moving light, the installation creates the illusion of a floating dragon, an ever-shifting sculptural form that brings a sense of theatre and quiet spectacle to the dining room. It serves not just as a lighting element, but as a kinetic focal point that transforms the ceiling into an active participant in the experience.
The spatial plan unfolds in a linear composition, anchored by a central bar that becomes both a visual and social nucleus. Designed around traditional soju and crafted soju cocktails, the bar reinforces the restaurant’s evening-led character. Strategically placed mirrors extend sightlines and amplify scale, allowing the interiors to feel expansive without losing intimacy.
Completing the architectural narrative is the facade, a striking 20-foot-tall mural crafted entirely from wooden menu tiles. Inspired by Chinese street culture, the installation forms a larger-than-life Asian portrait, functioning as both an artistic statement and a powerful symbol of MISU’s brand ethos. It acts as a visual anchor for the building, drawing the outside world into the restaurant’s layered design language.
With its newest outlet, MISU positions itself as a design-conscious destination where interiors are not ornamental but integral, crafted to heighten experience, encourage lingering, and leave a lasting visual imprint on Bengaluru’s evolving dining landscape.
