Indo Warehouse, the globally celebrated movement for bringing South Asian identity to the world’s biggest dancefloors, is making a powerful return to its roots with ‘Bombay Acid’ — a hypnotic collaboration between Indo Warehouse co-founder Kunal Merchant and Grammy-nominated artist Raja Kumari via the legendary label Crosstown Rebels.
‘Bombay Acid’ is exactly what it sounds like — a sonic homage to the city that never stops moving. The track blends Merchant’s meticulously layered production, melding deep, hypnotic house grooves with ancestral Indian textures and Raja Kumari’s commanding vocals, resulting in a ritualistic club experience that feels both underground and spiritual, bridging cultural heritage and contemporary electronic sounds.
The B-side features a remix by UK house powerhouse SYREETA, who injects the track with her trademark low-end energy and late-night punch — the perfect counterpoint to Merchant’s cinematic original.
Inspired by the late Charanjit Singh, the pioneering Bollywood session musician who created the 1982 cult record ‘Ten Ragas to a Disco Beat’ — ‘Bombay Acid’ reimagines that spirit for a new generation. With this track, Indo Warehouse is reclaiming space for South Asian stories on the global electronic stage, taking listeners home into a universe where rhythm, culture, and underground energy meet in unison. About Raja Kumari —
A Grammy-nominated rapper, singer, and classically trained dancer — adds her signature presence to the track. Known for hits like “City Slums” and “Shook”, she’s one of the few Indian-origin artists to bridge Bollywood, global hip-hop, and spiritual storytelling. Her label Godmother Records, and projects like ‘The Bridge’ (2023) and ‘Kashi to Kailash’ (2025), continue to push boundaries for Indian representation in global music.
