After a phenomenal response to its debut show on June 7th, VILLAINS returns to the stage for a second show, offering Chennai another chance to witness this bold, immersive theatrical journey. tale‘O’meter invites audiences to once again step into a world where the shadows take centre stage, this time on Sunday, July 13th, 2025, at 6:00 PM at Medai, Alwarpet.
This isn’t just a show. VILLAINS is a reimagination of storytelling, blending play, poetry, paechu (Tamil poetic performance), and active audience interaction into a powerful 90-minute theatrical experience.
It challenges the usual narrative and boldly asks: Why should all stories be about heroes?
At its core, VILLAINS explores the often-overlooked perspectives of those labelled as antagonists, revealing layered motivations, blurred lines between right and wrong, and the deeply human side of morality. The performance uses immersive techniques to heighten the senses, including moments in complete darkness and time spent blindfolded with eye masks, drawing audiences into the heart of the narrative.
Please note: This show is recommended for audiences aged 16 and above due to the intense themes and emotional depth explored during the performance.
VILLAINS is both accessible and emotionally resonant for a wide audience. It features everything from reflective performances and poetic monologues to an interactive quiz-style session that encourages participation and reflection.
