Not everyone can make a liquor ad funny. Ryan Reynolds announced the purchase of the significant ownership of Portland-made Aviation Gin and released a hilarious new ad for his booze venture.
In his latest commercial, Ryan describes the process of making the gin in the hilarious way possible. Best known for his role as the smart-aleck superhero Deadpool, Reynolds released the over-the-top video on his Twitter page Thursday. Within two hours, it racked up nearly half a million views.
‘All of our botanicals are humanely caught, cage-free and grain-fed,’ he jokes in his tongue-in-cheek video. ‘And before [the gin] departs home, serenaded to the healing music of Sarah McLachlan.’ He continues, ‘You know, people come up to me all the time and they say what makes Aviation Gin so delicious? Most of the time I run away because non-celebrities frighten me, but here is the answer.’

Ryan Reynolds gives a shout out to Fresno in this Aviation American Gin social media campaign. Surprisingly, Rev. Tim Kutzmark, head of the Unitarian Universalist Church in Fresno is all cool with the video where it shows a minister (not the real Kutzmark) ordaining dozens of bottles of freshly made Aviation Gin. After seeing the video Thursday morning, Kutzmark said he had to pick himself off the floor from laughing.
‘Unitarian Universalism is a faith tradition that affirms the inherent worth and dignity of every person. Thanks to Ryan Reynolds, that blessing now extends to the worth and dignity of every bottle of Aviation Gin,’ Kutzmark said. ‘We’d love to invite Ryan to host a gin tasting party at the church, and he is welcome as a guest preacher anytime his schedule allows. Perhaps a sermon on the spirituality of Deadpool 2?’

The church too responded by having a toast of Reynold’s gin, saying it’s now ‘doubly blessed’ on twitter. Ryan responded to the church saying, ‘I feel like I should have done this sooner.’
