Kalank promotions are on full swing with Alia Bhatt, Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha, Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt slipping into dresses after dresses and places after places.
But what did not escalate our eyes was the presence of Kunal Kemmu, while most of the people are asking what the actor is doing in the film their questions were answered with the trailer launch where we saw the character of Kemmu, Abdul, threatening Zafar (Varun) in the film.
Now that is something different, we will say since we have seen Kunal doing more of comedy roles in comedy centric films like Golmaal 3, Dhol and Go Goa Gone and now, to our surprise, the actor has taken up a serious role.
Talking about Karan Johar’s 15 year old dream project, Kalank the actor said he is very delighted to be a part of the film, he said, ‘It was such an amazing ensemble cast. Most importantly, when I heard the part they wanted me to play, I was very surprised because generally, I’ve been doing comedy and drama, and this is a 180-degree change of a character I am doing. It was very interesting for me to jump into a character like this which people said they didn’t expect me to do.’
Talking further about his character, which pretty much seemed like a villain, Khemu said, ‘He has got a lot of shade. It is not a negative character. You will see it and all the positive or negative questions will be answered in the film. Every character in the film has multiple shades and that’s why an interesting part of the film. I am very excited to see how people receive the film and my character.’
