Mumbai, 2026: This festive season, Taneira unveils Solah Shringaar, a collection that celebrates the timeless tradition of Indian adornment and the beauty of being unapologetically oneself. Rooted in the belief that every woman brings her own individuality to the ritual of getting ready, the collection is a celebration of self-expression, where tradition meets personal style and every woman’s own interpretation of festive dressing.
Drawing from the sixteen elements of shringaar, from jewellery and hair adornments to mehendi, itra and anklets, the collection translates age-old traditions into contemporary saree designs. Rich silks, textured tussars and delicate organzas are complemented by intricate jewellery-inspired motifs and traditional crafts such as hand painting, block printing, embroidery, Gota Patti, Mukaish and sequin work. Bringing together India’s rich textile heritage and contemporary design sensibilities, Solah Shringaar celebrates the artistry of Indian craftsmanship while inviting women to embrace the festive season in a way that feels uniquely their own.
A Closer Look at the Collection
1. Divya Mukutam – Beginning with traditional head adornments, this tussar silk saree celebrates the Sun and Moon ornaments worn on either side of the head. Reimagined through a contemporary geometric composition, the design brings together hand painting, block printing and embroidery in a Rangkat-inspired arrangement, symbolising completeness, timeless beauty and auspiciousness.
2. Kantika Abhushanam – Taking its cue from the necklace, an integral element of Solah Shringaar, this silk saree features a heart-shaped motif reminiscent of the ornamental centrepiece of traditional jewellery. Meenakari-inspired colours lend richness to the design, while embroidery, hand painting and appliqué create a considered interplay of colour, texture and handcrafted detail.
3. Anga Shringaram – The traditional bajuband, or armlet, lends its ornamental language to this saree, reinterpreting the intricate details of Indian jewellery through a harmonious interplay of block printing and delicate embroidery. The design brings a sense of refined ornamentation to the drape, celebrating the beauty of traditional adornment through the language of craft.
4. Charu Padukam – A tribute to the traditional bichhua, or toe ring, this silk organza saree brings a distinctive interpretation to the Solah Shringaar narrative through fish motifs. Gota Patti, hand embroidery and delicate beadwork are complemented by a fluid ombré palette, lending the saree a light, ethereal drape with understated richness.
